The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is mobilizing teams and boosting capacity in Ukraine and neighbouring countries to respond to the growing humanitarian needs of Ukrainians forced to flee the country, those internally displaced and stranded third-country nationals.

In response to the broad military operations in Ukraine, launched by the Russian Federation on 24 February 2022, IOM Hungary has been scaling up assistance in support to the government and crisis-affected persons.

Millions of people in Ukraine have fled their homes since 24 February; to date, many have benefited from dedicated complex assistance and protection-related services as part of IOM Hungary's emergency response.

IOM can be found at the Nyugati information point in Budapest and in Záhony railway station, where it has a permanent presence, as well as in the wider border area where mobile teams are operating.

IOM Hungary offers free interpretation services in Ukrainian, Russian, English and Hungarian to support people fleeing Ukraine to Hungary. Our interpreters are available on workdays from 9:00 to 17:00 CET. In case you need interpretation by phone or in-person, please use the online form here to book an appointment.
